For several years you have worked as a primary care practitioner providing care to newly arriving refugees. You have come to appreciate the many challenges facing newly arriving refugee families and you want to ensure you are providing the most effective preventive health care possible.

Question: How would you approach this challenge?

This scenario highlights the need for an evidence based decision support guideline. Many guidelines already exist and searching the internet for a relevant guideline is a good place to start.

But sometimes guidelines will not exist. And this a job for a clinical scholar.

The second part of this module takes you through some of the steps that a scholar would need to consider to develop evidence-based guidelines for refugees.
